Saturday, May 31 I should blog when drunk. I don't get drunk often anymore... but when I do it is hard to type. Go U of A application. Peter McKay. Find yourself a party that likes you. And go Ducks. NOTE: This post has been edited after the fact in the painful light of sobriety. posted by Duncan @ 11:15 PM 0 comments Application submitted. Well now that is all done, all that is left to play the waiting game... Meh, waiting game sucks. Let's go play Hungry Hungry Hippos. posted by Duncan @ 10:21 AM 0 comments Thursday, May 29 We are even closer - dropping off forms for two references and mailing the form itself! posted by Duncan @ 11:42 PM 0 comments Wednesday, May 28 Down to three things... posted by Duncan @ 9:08 PM 0 comments Wow, applying to a school takes more out of you than you imagine. But the prospects are looking good. I officially have only seven things left to do, none of which can be done today or is dependant on other people. I feel nervous, but it is turning more and more into a giddy nervousness, like you feel before a date with someone you really like. Maybe I will take my family out for dinner tomorrow. That will feel good. Of course, I am poor. Darn legal tender, always getting in the way of things. posted by Duncan @ 3:04 PM 0 comments Tuesday, May 27 Still more thinking about the future... what else? Got a few new DVD's today, thanks to the people at Columbia House. Should I watch Casino second (already watched Happy Gilmore)? Or the Green Mile? posted by Duncan @ 4:57 PM 0 comments Monday, May 26 The paradox of going to the future and finding out you suck. posted by Duncan @ 5:47 PM 0 comments Step one and two of the process is complete. My application will be ready to go on Thursday. posted by Duncan @ 3:56 PM 0 comments Sunday, May 25 I am going to apply to do my Masters at the University of Alberta. It was hard to type that. I am frightened. But I shall persevere. I will let you know all about it when the stuff comes down. posted by Duncan @ 4:15 PM 0 comments Friday, May 23 You might wonder why I'm not blogging. I do too. There should be a reason. Nevertheless, thinking even more about grad school. I will update you when I have more information. posted by Duncan @ 9:21 AM 0 comments Tuesday, May 20 Still finding myself obsessed with Star Wars. Is it a phase? Only two more years of wait... will watch the original trilogy tonight and tomorrow. That might do it. Play a little Rogue Leader to boot.

Saturday, May 17 I went to a dance recital today - Raven's dance recital to be exact. It was nice. What else... honestly there wasn't much else to the day. Lots of Animal Crossing. I need an adult game... not necessarily violent, but something that isn't so cute. Maybe I'll install and play a little Baldur's Gate (best plot for a video game, and will get me even more going for Knights of the Old Republic). posted by Duncan @ 10:52 PM 0 comments Friday, May 16 I continue to have blogger block - no idea on what to blog on. If I were Wil Wheaton, this would be a bad thing, but I'm not, so there is no need to be too concerned. Went to the Northwest Calgary Tory AGM last night... I have lots of work to do this summer, but I like work, so that is OK. What else can I say... it is hailing/snowing outside, of all nights when I am supposed to go clubbing for the first time in two years... could be worse though. And I got a new jacket! I love new jackets. It is blue and warm without being too warm. I've wanted this jacket since my last one was stolen (sort of, as in I know who has it but they are sort of welcome to keep it). So hungry... will go eat now. posted by Duncan @ 4:55 PM 0 comments Wednesday, May 14 Wow. Star Wars: A New Hope done in Telnet! Those who don't know what Telnet is either weren't surfing the web in the early nineties or were never students at the University of Calgary between 1995-99. But there it is... the whole movie. posted by Duncan @ 12:46 PM 0 comments
As a rapid fire update - I'm listening to Sarah McLachlan lots, playing lots of Animal Crossing, have been diagnosed with cluster headaches, have an MRI on June 12, and because of E3 (the big video game conference in LA) my game wishlist is growing exponentially... Also, Blogger doesn't seem to be, well, working well... posted by Duncan @ 10:57 AM 0 comments Tuesday, May 13 I should really blog, hey? But what to blog about? posted by Duncan @ 7:14 PM 0 comments Friday, May 9 Dear Elsie Wayne, Just when I started thinking that I might be OK with the federal Progressive Conservative party, then you go and say something like this: "When it comes to people who wish to live together, whether they are women or men, why do they have to be out here in the public always debating that they want to call it marriage? Why are they in parades? Why are they dressed up as women on floats? They do not see us getting up on the floats, for heaven's sake, to say we are husband and wife. We do not do that. Why do they have to go around trying to get a whole lot of publicity? If they are going to live together, they can go live together and shut up about it. There is not any need for this nonsense whatsoever and we should not have to tolerate it in Canada." That is ridiculous. The deputy leader and second longest serving member of the PC caucus... honestly if any member of the Canadian Alliance had said this in private they would be reprimanded (not to mention branded a bigot) but you said this in the house. In the House of Commons! And there is no doubt we all make mistakes, but you are refusing to apologize! I think you should step up and do the right thing and apologize. And failing that Joe Clark should kick you out of the PC caucus. Not just remove you as Deputy Leader, but boot you out of caucus. Why do they have to go around trying to get a whole lot of publicity, Elsie? Because they aren't allowed to marry! You don't get up on a float because you don't have to. And you insulted countless people by saying what you did. You hurt them. You hurt me. More than you were hurt when John McCallum commented on your sweater. You are a disgrace. People have a right to dignity, and the Canadian people deserve the debate that is going on right now. You have shamed us all. Duncan posted by Duncan @ 2:31 PM 0 comments Thursday, May 8 Did you hear that my favourite movie is coming to DVD? November seems so far away though...

Go away headaches. You are not wanted. posted by Duncan @ 7:49 AM 0 comments Tuesday, May 6 More video game news... Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Dead or Alive: Code Cronus and Splinter Cell: Shadow Strike are all going to be shown at E3... What else? Harry Potter fever (the book, not the movies, which are also great) continues to rage in England. posted by Duncan @ 3:44 PM 0 comments Monday, May 5 You know, I go several years with no health problems and then my body has started to just rebel. Nevertheless, the headaches seem to be subsiding... let's hope it stays that way. But I can say I still dislike water. Boo water. Got to go up and get another glass now.
