Sunday, December 28 Life is wonderful and happy with Allie. I can't wait to make her happy. Read more... posted by Duncan @ 1:55 PM 0 comments Friday, December 26 I'm taking a break - new presents and visiting Dad supercede my blog. Poor blog. posted by Duncan @ 11:54 PM 0 comments Thursday, December 25 Merry Christmas! I love Christmas. So much food. So many presents. So much not doing work. Except making said food. posted by Duncan @ 6:59 PM 0 comments Wednesday, December 24 10 more hours. 10 more hours. 10 MORE HOURS!!! AAAH! Christmas is so close yet so far. It was weird at the U of A today - I didn't see anyone between the bus stop and my office. Not a soul. And my office contained only nine people. Weird. Santa is just off the Eastern seaboard. Go Santa! You got my list, right? posted by Duncan @ 7:27 PM 0 comments Tuesday, December 23 Only one and a half days. Really, if I fall asleep at around this time tomorrow, it will only be one day from now. I have to work around four more hours before Christmas (my boss claims the office will shut down at 12:00 tomorrow) and sleep around 12 hours (I don't expect to sleep a full night tomorrow night). All the gifts are bought (nothing is wrapped however, as we have run out of wrapping paper and tape) except for something for the cat. Sweet dreams everyone. I am off to go and conquer the world in the first major gift of the year - Victoria, thanks to Quynn. posted by Duncan @ 11:25 PM 0 comments Monday, December 22 One hour and ten minutes to bath, one hour and forty minutes to breakfast. posted by Duncan @ 5:24 AM 0 comments I made a pot of coffee to go with our Civ game... of course Allie isn't affected by caffene the same way as the rest of us, but I sure am. That physical exhaustion that comes with staying up but not being able to sleep... grr. Well, only three more hours before I can wake Allie up and make breakfast. And have a bath and get ready for work. Everyone else in our house doesn't have to go to work or school until after Christmas. Why me? posted by Duncan @ 3:49 AM 0 comments Sunday, December 21
Passed the boss. I wonder how many levels are left? posted by Duncan @ 12:29 PM 0 comments Saturday, December 20 I am stuck in video games. And Christmas is only five days away (a time when I traditionally get more, although I can't guarantee anything).
Friday, December 19 New Spider-Man 2 trailer, now online. Go watch it now! posted by Duncan @ 9:35 PM 0 comments Look, if I had known the Calgary Flames were going to kick so much ass upon my departure, I would have left years ago. Flames have beaten Columbus tonight. One fan in Ohio apparently wore a paper bag the whole night. And this after destroying the Bruins last night as well. In May and June, I wonder how bad it will be for my skin to wear red paint every day on my face as I cheer the Flames in the playoffs? Let's go Flames, let's go!!!

Thursday, December 18 Everyday I read the news. I read a lot of news. Really, I read as much news as I can. And in the course of my news reading each and every day, I check out the Canada Wire, one of two listings of the major press releases put out by the Canadian government everyday. And this caught my eye this morning: "Minister of Finance Ralph Goodale has released a report by the Wise Persons' Committee entitled It's Time." The Wise Persons Committee? What the heck? A visit to the Wise Persons Committee's website reveals little as to how this government committee earned the title "Wise Persons". They are writing about pensions. Pensions? I mean I want smart people to deal with that, but I also want wise people on, say, the Cabinet. And the Canadian Arts Council, and the Canada Student Loan Plan. Especially the Canada Student Loan Plan. Go interest relief. Regardless, I believe I would be willing to sit on the Wise Persons Committee. I have a great deal of experience at being, well, wise. And a person. posted by Duncan @ 5:15 PM 0 comments Lord of the Rings: Return of the King was beautiful. Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Master and Commander have tremendous competition. If the Duncans™ are to go ahead, the winner of Best Motion Picture will indeed be a difficult one. posted by Duncan @ 7:35 AM 0 comments Wednesday, December 17 Off to see Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. Back in five hours. posted by Duncan @ 8:02 PM 0 comments Tuesday, December 16 I really don't like being sick. It has only been a month since I was last sick (I know, I checked in my blog). I wonder if it is Edmonton? Or spending more time with the kids, who are in turn spending more time with other kids? Or is it working in a office with more than one person? Or is it my cat? I doubt it is my cat. But it might be a function of all of the others. I am better though, having slept a tonne and am most certainly looking forward to tomorrow's Christmas concert and Return of the King in the late evening. All of my PC-only gamer friends have finally caught up on what made me a recluse for a week in July - Knights of the Old Republic. Best game of the year? Ever? Hard to say, but I certainly think it will get the Duncan™Game of the Year. Zelda will likely be the runner-up. Hmm... the Duncans™... I like the sound of that. Maybe I can get it televised. With a sexy co-host. Like Allie. posted by Duncan @ 11:32 PM 0 comments Sunday, December 14 Wow. I don't really know what to say. I wonder when the charges will be delivered to him. And the trial. posted by Duncan @ 9:34 AM 0 comments Friday, December 12 Stupid Scott Brison. Yay Allie's hooters. posted by Duncan @ 9:06 PM 0 comments So I was sitting there, having this intelligent coversation with the incoming Prime Minister earlier this morning, and I said "Sir, do you think that Edward Said was right?" And he said "Well, possibly Duncan, but you really must get down to the whole Grey Poupon-ness of it all and establish 'Were they girls at all?'" WARNING: I may have been drunk when I posted this. Check with Allie to be sure. And our Hooters server was no where near as cute as Allie. Anbd I got to take Allie home. I love Allie. And her hooters. Edit: I know this makes no sense. I really was drunk. Don't ask me what the first sentence meant. I don't know. posted by Duncan @ 9:05 PM 0 comments Wednesday, December 10 Brison moves to the Liberals Well, more interesting news on the Federal front. The waters might be sufficiently muddied that I will take a pass on politics at that level for another decade... sigh. posted by Duncan @ 11:29 PM 0 comments Tuesday, December 9 Thank you Allie, and yes I love you very much too. You are my everything, and likely even more than that. No matter what happens, I am so happy and so lucky to have you in my life. You are the most perfect and amazing girl I have ever met. I want to grow old with you. I love you. posted by Duncan @ 6:39 PM 0 comments Happy Anniversary Duncan!
I love you so much! posted by Allie @ 10:58 AM 0 comments Sunday, December 7 I have decided this guy's blog is pretty funny - The Sneeze. For Joel, I mean funny in a kind of more traditional sense than the AT-ST Kama Sutra. Not more funny or less funny, just a bit more friendly to some of the people under 12 who visit my blog. Work party = GOOD What else is there to say? Tuition = BAD on lots of levels (mostly that as far as I can tell I would be paid to surf the internet if there weren't a tuition problem, but also in that I pay it). I can't wait for Christmas. Allie has proposed that we spend the time from Dec. 24 to Jan. 2 in different stages of inebriation. I have decided that I am fine with that proposal. Not to say that I love being inebriated, just that I kind of miss it from time to time. Not total sauced either, as that makes me a little ill and very difficult to sleep, but just in a happy haze. Except on Boxing Day morning, then it is all business. I am very excited about Christmas! The days off, the presents, the food, my Dad visiting, the drinking, the whole celebration. I simply can't wait. But I have to. Only 18 more sleeps. posted by Duncan @ 10:09 PM 0 comments Saturday, December 6 I dislike Christmas shopping. posted by Duncan @ 3:07 PM 0 comments Thursday, December 4 Darren from Atari's support team is my new hero! Civilization III is running on my computer, and with lots of new goodies to boot! What a great day. Now, rather than focusing on my computer problems, I can take a look at my tremendous financial difficulties instead... Scary. posted by Duncan @ 9:09 PM 0 comments Wednesday, December 3 I know this man's pain. "Edgewater man, 34, charged after firing gun at game console" posted by Duncan @ 8:37 PM 0 comments I certainly hope my application to Ministry of Consumer and Business Services in Ontario goes through. "The Ministry devoted 95% of its inspection resources to inspecting this industry" - the industry being adult video retailers. This after only eight complaints. Collection agencies on the other hand got 4,000 complaints. I did not like Christmas shopping this year. It would be easier if I had a Visa whose bill someone else took care of. I need one of those. And some sort of servant. And of course, a spanking new ATI Radeon card. Especially if it would lead to what the comments on Sunday suggested. posted by Duncan @ 8:25 PM 0 comments Tuesday, December 2
