So here is my future professional home... sort of a fixer-upper. And yes, the logo is photoshopped in. But lots of excitement. I am so excited. Very excited. More excited about this job than any job since I was Vice President External at the U of C. So much excitement.

Started saying good bye at my current job. Good times though, since I'll still be working with many of them. And the weather is beautiful. And we all know what beautiful weather means.

    Thursday, April 29

    Calgary 2, Detroit 4

Good game. Too bad I had to steal some of the Flames' luck. They will get it back. We are now tied with the very best team in the NHL in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Back to Detroit. Then back to Calgary again.

    Duncan Wojtaszek, BA, BA
    Executive Director
    Council of Alberta University Students

Has a nice ring to it. As was mentioned below, the wait is over.

I might be looking for a new host. And you may have already heard Allie's rant about just paying for a year's worth of hosting. But this constant reverting back to where the site was two days earlier and what not is not going well. Sigh.

If anyone is super happy with their host and are paying under $20 a month (preferably under $10 a month) Canadian for their host, give them a plug so I can check them out. And I will also see if I can get out of my contract with my host.

    Poor Duncan
    Blog is down
Webboard isn't quite working yet (I was way too premature announcing it)
    I am still waiting

    Yay Duncan
    I am getting married!
    Weather is improving
    Flames are playing tonight
I am on top of work
    We have batteries

    Wednesday, April 28

The long wait continues. Perhaps I should find something else to occupy my time.

    Tuesday, April 27

Despite my problems with the blog, I decided to still embark on a new project:

    The Phendrana Drifts Webboard!

What is a webboard? Click on the link and find out. There are other webboards to peruse as well, like my one at work. I was recently challenged (maybe challenged is the wrong word) to make one, and I wanted to show the world I could do it.

Go to the Webboard, sign up and see what gets posted! And yes, I am geek. Such is life. Still, more than some have done with their web space...

Edit: The webboard is very tempermental. If it doesn't work, try playing around with the address - add or delete the "www.", refresh, etc. I am going to have words with my host at the end of today.

Edit again: The link is turned off until I rectify some problems...

I want everyone who reads this to ask me 3 questions, no more no less. Ask me anything you want and I will answer it. Then, I want you to go to your journal, copy and paste this allowing your friends (including myself) to ask you anything.

    Via Allie.

    Calgary 3, Detroit 2

Another beautiful hockey game. Great all the way to very end. I love seeing the team in the red jersey, feeding off the fans in the Saddledome.

The waiting game has reached new levels of suckiness. People say the waiting game is over, only to have me discover that the waiting game must go on for longer periods of time.

    Still waiting.

    Monday, April 26

    The waiting game still sucks.

Now we play the waiting game.

Meh, waiting game sucks. Let's play Hungry Hungry Hippos.

There are three possibilities for the event today:

    1. Thumbs up
    2. Thumbs down
    3. Shrugs shoulders
Let's hope for number one. But I likely won't know the real results for a couple of weeks.

    Sunday, April 25

    Sleep = me.

    Saturday, April 24

Something very neat just happened, something I had in fact sadly written off. I would tell you dear blog, but people are listening. This is one of those times I wish no one knew about you blog.

And yes, partially this is a bait to get comments. But really, something did happen. And all but six of you probably could know and would be happy too. And chances are one or two of those people also know about it.

    Calgary 2, Detroit 5

Weird how a 3-1 game becomes a 5-2 game so quickly, but really 3-1 is the same as 5-2. Technically 5-2 is worse, but really, they mean the same thing. We are precisely as far in the Stamley Cup Playoffs as the very best team in hockey and we are going back home to kick their ass. Just like Iggy kicked Darian's ass in the final seconds. Did you see Iggy kick his 6'4" ass?

    Thursday, April 22

    Calgary 2, Detroit 1 (OT)

He shoots, he scores! 11 more wins. And now we have home ice advantage.

Are you working yet? Or only at work? And why would you only work at work?

    Wednesday, April 21

    Do you work?

My blog is still down. I will post more when I fix the problem.

I am going through blogging withdrawal. Well, I guess not really, because I have posted. But no one else can see them.

    Tuesday, April 20

Despite the lack of blog publishing, I thought I would post for the record that with Leafs winning Allie was seven for eight on her predictions for the first round. She said that New Jersey would win their series but other than that she was spot on.

So my blog has actually stopped publishing as of right now. Weird. My host blames Blogger and Blogger is free, so doesn't have great support, so I don't know who they blame.

This is sort of just a test...

There are new pictures for the blog. Wait until I get home from the UofA.

My blog is down (again!) and again somewhere it involves the host. Grr. Regardless, here is the schedule for round two:

Thu. April 22 Calgary at Detroit, 5:30 pm
Sat., April 24 Calgary at Detroit, 1:00 pm
Tue. April 27 Detroit at Calgary, 7:00 pm
Thu., April 29 Detroit at Calgary, 8:00 pm
Sat. May 1 Calgary at Detroit, 1:00 pm
Tue. May 3 Detroit at Calgary, 8:00pm
    Wed.,May 5 Calgary at Detroit, 5:00pm

    Monday, April 19

    Calgary 3, Vancouver 2 (OT)

YEAH BABY!!! Now it is Detroit's turn!

Tony: $100 million for NorQuest. We need that.

    Jimmy: What is NorQuest?

Duncan: Place to get a high school degree when high school didn't work for you.

Erin: They teach a lot of immigrants. I see their ads on the LRT all the time.

Tony: They also do other stuff.

Erin: Like administration assistants and stuff. Counsellors, medical staff.

Duncan: Basically white collar entry level jobs.

    Jimmy: So, like minions. Ha!

Duncan: I don't know if we should laugh, given where we are. And we had to get a university degree to get here.

Jimmy: Or more than one in some of our cases.

Duncan: How many have more than one university degree?

We all put up our hands.

    Sunday, April 18

    Calgary 4, Vancouver 5 (3OT)

What a game! Too bad we lost, but I was amazed by the come back. I love that we didn't give up after being down 4-0. Game 7 is tomorrow, then the Detroit Red Wings.

    Saturday, April 17

If Indiana Jones saw Kill Bill: Vol. 2, he would say "A snake. Why did it have to be a snake?" Which sums up most of what I think. Well, it was a good movie. But the snake... why do I have to be so terrified of snakes?

    Thursday, April 15

Erin: "Did you hear? Svend Robinson stole a ring! That is why he is resigning."

Duncan: "Wow! Why does he have to resign?"

Tony: "Because, you can't be an MP and a thief."

Erin and Duncan both give puzzled look to Tony

Tony: "Ok, I mean a petty thief."

    Calgary 2, Vancouver 1

There are no words for my happiness. Well, maybe. Yeah baby! Back to Calgary, then on to... San Jose? Or Detroit? Then another 12 wins. Then a marriage in a Flames jersey and Duncan pushing a baby carriage?

    Game countdown - 1/2 hour.

    Tuesday, April 13

    Calgary 4, Vancouver 0

We played hard, we played well and we played like a team. Not to mention kick butt special teams. And a great goalie who not only got the shutout, but also got an assist. The hardest working team in hockey gets another win. 14 wins to go!

Obviously by the score it was the best game of our post-season, but really, it was a great game. A bunch more like it will make me very, very happy.

    Monday, April 12

I'm not sure I want to go back to the U of A tomorrow morning. I just started a new season in NHL 2003 (just started being a relative term, 24 games into a 29 game season) and a new game of Metroid Prime, celebrating the end of Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, the NHL playoffs, and the excitement over the new Metroid movie that may or may not come out. So much fun to do. But I will go all the same.

    Sunday, April 11

    Calgary 1, Vancouver 2

I am sad - not too sad mind you. But enough I am going for a walk to avoid the temptation of going to Vancouver and do my best impersonation of the Bride in Kill Bill.

Weird - my blog isn't working very well today. It isn't Blogger, but apparently my host. Hopefully the problems will be worked out by Tuesday.

    Saturday, April 10

With every Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, there is a chance you win something. Some people will win a year subscription of xBox Live (worth $80.00) and some will win a big screen television. And most will win nothing. But I did win - a year's subscription to xBox Live. Now, I ususally don't like online gaming, so I kind of ignored it, but since I finished Pandora Tomorrow, I thought I would give it a go. I hook my xBox up to the internet, go through the steps then reach a problem.

I am supposed to rub off my "Subscription Code" off of my winning card. I do that. But the card (and I was only using a dime) gets wrecked in the middle). Three digits of the 25 digit code are in dispute. Let me make it clear that I did not use any unreasonable force in rubbing off the grey stuff. I try a few times to enter in a code, but it doesn't work. I hook the computer back up to the internet, and scour the support site. No clues.

I call xBox Live Support. I get a nice sounding guy. He explains he doesn't think there is anything he can do to help me, but he'll try anything. After talking to me, he goes to explain the situation to Will, a Level 2 Tech. Will comes on the line after a half hour wait, and says I am out of luck. No, I would be ok with that, everyone has bad luck. He said that since I destroyed the card, I will have to purchase another one. Stupid.

    Friday, April 9

    Calgary 2, Vancouver 1

WE WON! Only 15 more wins this season! Go Flames! Miikka Kiprusoff was great, Iggy scored and so did Lombardi. So good. We made them play our game. Now we go to Calgary with a split. Go Flames Go!

    Thursday, April 8

We saw The Punisher tonight. It was... well, it was more than OK. But much darker than the other Marvel movies that have come out recently. Of course the Punisher was a darker comic, but this movie had such a different feel, that I hesitate to try and put them in the same category.

    Knock, Knock...

Can Duncan come out and play?

    Wednesday, April 7

    Calgary 3, Vancouver 5

Too bad about the penalties. I really did enjoy the game and thought we showed a lot of spirit. I wish that it had ended differently.

A Metroid movie directed by John Woo...

    Interesting.

    Tuesday, April 6

I should really edit that blogroll, eh?

Playoffs start tomorrow, a couple of (sick-free) days off later on this week, and the end of the school semester. And summer. On a university campus. And a hopeful sense of renewal.

    Sunday, April 4

The schedule is in. The Calgary Flames versus the Vancouver Canucks.

Wed. April 7: Calgary at Vancouver, 8:30PM
Fri. April 9 Calgary at Vancouver, 8:30PM
Sun. April 11 Vancouver at Calgary, 7:30PM
Tue. April 13 Vancouver at Calgary, 8:00PM
Thu. April 15 Calgary at Vancouver, 8:30PM
Sat. April 17 Vancouver at Calgary, TBA
Mon. April 19 Calgary at Vancouver, 8:30PM

    Go Flames Go!

    Saturday, April 3

To celebrate our arrival in the postseason, I have made Calgary Flames wallpaper for your desktop! Yay! Besides, the wallpaper found on the Calgary Flames site are kind of lame, although there is a new Kiprusoff one that isn't too bad. Click on one of the following links to get the picture:

    Calgary Flames 1280x1024
    Calgary Flames 1024x768

    Calgary 3, Los Angeles 2

And the Flames won yesterday too!

    Friday, April 2

I had a great super-duper day. I am much too tired to blog about it though. Great morning with Allie. Chocolate milk. Super time at work. Girls on university campus in sunny weather. New GameCube controller. Another great conversation with Allie. Took Raven and Allie to concert. Met Rt. Hon. Paul Martin, MP, PC. Watched my boss take the same stage as said Prime Minister Martin, Nelly Furtado and Barenaked Ladies saying words I actually wrote. Sushi with Erin from work with her husband, Raven and Allie. Going to bed. With Allie. And the Flames continue to be in the playoffs.

    Thursday, April 1

    Snicker... click on this.

    Trojan Sexual Organ

    Calgary 1, Phoenix 0

Step one of winning the Cup is complete. We are in the playoffs.
