Saturday, July 31 New lava lamps are good. And milk is good. Imagine what would occur if you got a lava lamp in the shape of a milk bottle?
Now I know. Too bad milk no longer comes in such bottles - that would be awesome. The Democratic Convention is over. I'm not sure how big a fan of going to war without hesitation - it isn't working so well for the current President. But I remain hopeful of a Democratic win. posted by Duncan @ 10:42 PM 0 comments Thursday, July 29 Think different my ass. I hate my work iMac. Likely it is related to immense age, but my work iMac sucks. I need a new computer at work. It can't do anything, it is slow, and it hurts my eyes to even look at it. I figure it is related to it being a pile of doo. Sigh. October can't come fast enough (scheduled upgrade to something actually created this millennium).

Wednesday, July 28 Another long day. But I did it all. Brochure? Check. Visit boss? Check. Meet a new friend? Check. Fix web? Check. Do wedding photos? Check. Finish watching Shogun? Check. posted by Duncan @ 10:48 PM 0 comments Monday, July 26 Every have an odd fealing of dread, but can't remotely explain the source? I feel that right now. Kind of disconcerting. I also don't feel great, which certainly might have something to do with it (Allie got sick, and passed it on to me), but it is kind of unshakeable. <geek content="starwars"> However, on to the good news - Episode III was bestowed with a name today, "Revenge of the Sith." I'm debating in my own mind whether it is good. No where in any of the five existing movies do they explain what the Sith are seeking revenge for - of course my knowledge of the Star Wars universe fills in that blank, but having five movies where the major motive of a principal antagonist is left as a mystery, then naming the sixth movie after that as yet hidden motive strikes me as an odd choice. But lots of people within the Star Wars fan community, while not having left their parents basement yet, seem quite happy with the choice. I guess it is better than "Attack of the Clones", but it is no "Empire Strikes Back". May 19. But before that, I will have September 21 (Star Wars DVD day) and a theoretical Winter 2004 date for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (but I still think February 2005 is more realistic). A very Star Wars year. Suits me just fine.</geek>

Sunday, July 25 Did anyone think it was a brilliant idea when Garfield jumped from animation to the big screen? Or even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? I hope someone tells Dreamworks that taking the Transformers into live action might make it suck.
Transform and roll out! posted by Duncan @ 9:05 AM 0 comments Saturday, July 24 It would appear that Lance Armstrong has done it. And did you know he's dating Sheryl Crow? Six Tour de Frances and Sheryl Crow. Sounds like a pretty charmed life to me. Well, except for all that training. posted by Duncan @ 11:03 AM 0 comments Thursday, July 22 I have new anime thanks to Allie! GTO!!!
In other news, I am now represented by the Intergovernmental Affairs critic for the Official Opposition of Canada. Harper's choices were a bit more disappointing, but still overall a better opposition than that following the 1993, 1997 or 2000 election. Especially 2000. posted by Duncan @ 8:33 PM 0 comments Wednesday, July 21 Words cannot descibe how much of a stupid comment this is. George W. Bush: I want to be the peace president. Good job so far.

So I go two weeks without blogging because I was away or had no blog, and how do I celebrate my return? By blogging? Nope. But David Anderson was fired. I like that. And Stéphane Dion replaced him. I like that more. And Scott Brison is my new Minister of Public Works. That is also good. Heck, the guy I think is the greatest goaltender in history is my new Minister of Social Development, Ken Dryden. Of course, to get all this, Paul Martin has to stay as Prime Minister. At home, four Alberta ministers have retired (Nelson, Taylor, Jonson and Woloshyn), four Tory backbenchers, four Liberal MLAs, and Dr. Pannu stepped down as leader in favour of Brian Mason. A good policial summer. Although not as good as 2002 when Paul Martin and Jean Chrétien had open war. That was seriously interesting politics. Sigh. I am a nerd. posted by Duncan @ 7:30 AM 0 comments Sunday, July 18 Step #1: Have the greatest bachelor party without ending up in jail.
Step #2: Get married.
Step #3: Go to Vancouver Island.
Step #4: Help Quynn move. Step #5: Get blog back up and running. My life's work is now complete. posted by Duncan @ 10:49 PM 0 comments Saturday, July 17 Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Wes! Happy birthday to you! posted by Duncan @ 10:38 PM 0 comments Saturday, July 3 My blog has had three major "outages" - two of which were technology driven. Be prepared, there may soon be another... my domain expires Monday and although I was attentive enough to pay to renew it, I have been warned it may not have happened in enough time. And Brett knows what happens when you get into that territory. Should I go down, not to fret - it should all be fixed sooner or later. Regardless, after Wednesday you shouldn't expect much updating anyway. My blog is not spending my post-wedding time being updated. posted by Duncan @ 10:56 PM 0 comments Marriage is soon!!! posted by Duncan @ 9:52 AM 0 comments Thursday, July 1 I forgot my cat's birthday, June 28. That sucks. Sorry Zoe. Also, I saw Spider-Man 2. Good movie. Not as good as the first. But very good. J. Jonah Jameson stole the show again. And of course minority governments and super early fall elections dominate my life. And it is my country's birthday today. Happy Canada Day. And of course, I am getting married in six days. Sorry about the update-ish post. I'll post more later. posted by Duncan @ 10:57 AM 0 comments © 2003-2010 Duncan Wojtaszek No reproduction whatsoever, in any form, without permission.
