I love RSS - I have been positively addicted for two years. The technology has relatively low penetration, but it is my number one source of getting news via my beloved Google Reader. Elections are an ideal opportunity to show off this technology, so I thought I would share my feeds and ask if anyone has any good ones to add.

I like Kinsella, Wells, and Coyne. I love Andrew Coyne, but he rarely updates.

I like your blog. I never looked at blogs before the elction call.I am 50 with a wife in a profession, daughter in first year university and a son in grade 11. We are upper middle class in family income.
You are a PC and I traditionally have been.
Health Care premiums are paid by my wifes employer. Who will eliminating them benefit? Our family or the Capital Health Region?
Extra funding to universities announced at the same time tutitions increased 4.6%. You got connections to Stelmach? Tell him I want to read about specifics not tax credits if and when certain conditions are met.

I think that Grumpy's family is not neccessarily the family that needs to benefit from rlimination of health care premiums - rather working families with young kids struggling to make ends meet or perhaps the senior who makes just enough not to qualify for a subsidy but then their health care premiums take all their "extra" from them. Eliminating the Health Care Premium is important for many Albertans - Grumpy should be happy that his family is one that doesn't have to pay them (and perhaps they will get better extra benefits when the employer can reinvest those savings).
As for Arthur Kent - well I am sure he is feeling pretty bad about being quoted in the media the way he was - and being a media guy he should have known better than to fall into that trap - but given the state of the media in this province (and especially Calgary) I am not surprised that this was reported the way it was. Why can't we have fair and balanced reporting from the MSM?

You are right, I am fortunate in the health care premium department and as a family it really of little consequence to me. What I am hoping for is specific definitions on the issues and how the plans affect individuals.
An example would be NDP's pledge to cap prescrition costs for Seniors at $25.00 per month.( or something like that)It is a clear defined platform. As an opposite would be the promise to establish an amount of affordable housing units with million dollar pledges. What does that mean? Is a subsidy plan? Is it a set number of units in developements that must be set aside for affordable housing? I think affordable housing is a big issue by the way.
In conversations with other voters we are still trying to figure out how the results of the election will impact individuals.
I thought the way the underfunded pesion issue for teachers was presented was very well done. It was clear how that affected all Albertans.
